Training Ship "Rahaman" & Quality Policy

Training Ship “Rahaman” has a proud record of having provided high quality Marine Training & Education to a large number of maritime personnel for over nine decades. Keeping with its policy of continually updating its standards of education and training, the Governing Council decided to establish and implement a Quality Management System to meet the requirements of the International Standards, initially of ISO 9001:1994 and later to ISO 9001:2000. Thus the top Management of the Training Ship “Rahaman” comprising the Captain Superintendent, Training Coordinators and Management Representative are committed to implementing and maintaining a quality management system complying with the requirements of the chosen international standards and to continually improve the effectiveness of this system..

The Mission of Training Ship “Rahaman” is to impart high quality education and training to the sea going and shore based personnel serving the maritime industry both at the national and international level.

Quality Objective

The Training Faculty of Training Ship "Rahaman" is determined to prevent a “Poor” rating in conduct of all its courses and has thus decided to achieve :

  • 100 % fulfillment of Course Objectives as stipulated in the Course Specification Document.

  • Zero mishaps and / or accidents during the conduct of the Courses

Quality Policy of Training Ship “Rahaman”

Management of “Training Ship "Rahaman" is committed to :

  • Understand and meet the expectations and quality requirements of its customers and other stakeholders.

  • Provide training products, and services of a high quality to all its customers, while establishing, reviewing, and achieving quality objectives to promote quality work with the aim of continually enhancing customer satisfaction.

  • Continually improve its quality system and to fully comply with the legislative and regulatory requirements of the national and international administrative bodies and the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watch keeping 1995 (STCW 95) and the International Standard ISO 9001 : 2000 regarding the design development, delivery, assessment and certification of various educational and training programs.

  • Improve the quality of its products by creating awareness about the Quality Management System amongst its employees.

The Management is also committed “to review the Quality Policy for its continuous suitability.

This Quality Policy is made known to all employees, learners, sponsors, and approving bodies by displaying it at prominent locations within the premises of T. S "Rahaman". All employees are encouraged and motivated to implement this policy in their day-to-day work.
